Ross Wilson, a northern Minnesota carpenter, has built a three-quarter sized replica of a Norse long ship and launched her on Mille Lacs Lake in Minnesota in August, 2010.
She is about 35 feet in length, carries about a ton of ballast, has a single square sail, and is a replica of a Viking longboat recovered from a fjord in Norway.

In the Water!
The Viking ship is floating proudly in the water at Garrison Creek Marina just north of Garrison, MN. Ross reports no serious issues. This is a tremendous achievement after years of research & hard work!
